a) Content Management System (CMS) - a back end to your site that allows you to log in to an online administration interface and make edits to your content. The cons to this method are the significant increased expense to implement, and the limited design options that result from using a 'template' based site.
b)Editing Software - If you own a program like Dreamweaver or one of the other many web authoring software programs, you can edit the content of your pages in the actual html files. The cons to this method are having to: purchase software, learn xhtml and css coding, spend time doing the updates and upload them yourself. You would not want to consider a CMS for yor site if any of the following apply:
- you have a tight budget for your site.As part of my services, I offer updates and maintenance for your site on a time spent basis, at a rate of $35/hour.
- you do not need to update the site very often.
- the content that needs to change often would work well in a blog instead.
- you want a uniquely customized design for your site.
